Sen-I Yu is a New York-based filmmaker originally from Taiwan. She earned an MFA degree from the Graduate Film Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Sen-I has written and directed numerous narrative short films and documentaries, won recognitions in film festivals such as Asian American International Film Festival, Newport International Film Festival, Busan Asian Short Film Festival in Korea, and Taipei Women Make Waves Film Festival, among others. She is a Student Academy Awards Regional Finalist with her film ACUPUNCTURE GIRL, a grantee of the National Culture and Arts Foundation of Taiwan, and Warner Bros. Pictures Production Grant for her other short UNDER THE WILLOW TREE.


Sen-I has also been working as a director/editor in the film and video industry in New York City. Her credits include documentary features and shorts, Television programs, commercial spots and music videos.


Sen-I is currently developing her first feature CALIFORNIA MOMMY.
